Digital & Financial Literacy
The Problem
For a farmer who has never held a bank passbook, a loan still means a moneylender at a punishing rate. For a woman with no account in her own name, government benefits, insurance, and savings stay out of reach, not for lack of need, but for lack of a login, a signature, or the confidence to ask. For a small community organisation without digital tools, fundraising means asking the same people again and again rather than reaching new ones. Digital India has built the infrastructure; what's still catching up, in many places, is the confidence and know-how to use it.
The Solution
At ActImpact, we don't treat digital and financial literacy as a separate module: we bundle it into the same skilling and livelihood programmes we already run, so a new skill and a bank account, a mobile payment, or a credit line arrive together. That means integrated digital-and-banking training for farmers, targeted financial inclusion for previously unbanked women, and digital capacity for civil society organisations to raise funds and reach communities directly. Reaching everyone, not just those already near a bank branch or a strong signal, is what turns digital growth into shared growth.
